Having an idea is good, next step is finding more discussions and information about what's happening when you live on a boat. To that end, I looked for exchange and discussion groups about sailing families living on a boat all year.

Sailing and Cruising: With Children : This group is for families cruising with children. Discussions of how to do it safely, and enjoyably, are encouraged.

Sailing with kids : All cruising families, sailing and liveaboard with kids/children. Mostly In Europe/ Mediterranean/ UK.

Liveaboard Sailing Families (with Kids) : This group is for sailing families who aspire to or already are living aboard (mooring, anchor or dock) and/or cruising/circumnavigating with children on board. This is the place to talk about homeschooling, family life, cooking, socializing and general issues and topics related to kid life underway. This is a great place to see where other sailing families are located and to make friends, share ideas and even schedule meetups!

Kids4Sail :

This is a community of cruising FAMILIES who are currently/preparing to live aboard and/or travel. It is a safe place for sharing and encouraging one another.
